T hank you for your interest in Beautiful Birth and congratulations on adding to your family!!! I’m Holly Press, the Owner and Founder of Beautiful Birth! I have been passionately obsessed with this season of life, since being pregnant with my first child, in 2001, but a love for and working with newborns has been a thread all throughout my life. It began with the birth of my baby sister, when I was 6 and being the only one able to soothe her. I learned much about studying normal newborn behavior and different coping/soothing techniques as a nanny to various families with kids aged newborn to 5yrs, for six years, before entering into pregnancy and parenthood myself. With Inductions and C-sections being the norm at that time, coupled with the clear, horrific visions portrayed on the BIG screen, I was completely terrified of being pregnant and thinking of birthing, then being responsible to parent, a human!! Fortunately, these amazingly comprehensive classes found me and helped me to see clearly, how to navigate whatever I was desiring of my birthing experience and have a good base of understanding about newborn care. Different strokes for different folks, for sure, but with the knowledge my hubby and I received, we were able to have an incredible birth experience and felt highly satisfied with the choices we made throughout the journey, that led to the birth of our firstborn son!!! Having then gone on to birth 4 little humans in 3 years, again, all of my previous time well spent with newborns was put into full practice, as I navigated being mommy to all of these littles!! What an incredible privilege and adventure!! It is a lifetime worth of passionate and personal knowledge and experience that I bring into every setting, whether the group / private / online classes, as a Birth Doula or Postpartum Doula, as a Night Nanny, Sleep Trainer and lover of this transformative window of life:) When I am not actively assisting other families, I love playing beach volleyball, baking, spending time with my loved ones, nerdy game nights in PJ’s and making new friends! And on the rare occasion I am not on call, long hikes with no reception and a day on the slopes, are also my cup of tea:)
